EnergyPricing is an iPhone app that shows live Dutch electricity prices per hour and per quarter hour, from the EPEX day-ahead market, as the all-in price you actually pay: your provider's fee, energy tax and VAT included. Version 3.0 adds a solar forecast for your own roof, a calculator that counts your panels and an Apple Watch app. It works with every dynamic-contract provider and needs no account.

You enter where your panels are, their tilt, the direction they face and their total peak power. You can measure tilt and direction by holding your phone against a panel. EnergyPricing then fetches a forecast from Forecast.Solar and draws what your panels will make today and tomorrow over the price chart. Each kWh is valued at your provider's feed-in rate, and you can see the effect of salderen (net metering): what your solar is worth with it, and what changes when it ends on 1 January 2027.

Negative prices show up exactly as they are in the chart, on the main screen and in every widget, including every "cheaper than now" comparison. With Plus you also get a push and a Live Activity countdown when prices stay below zero for 30 minutes or more, and a heads-up the day before.

Every dynamic-contract provider in the Netherlands. For Tibber, Frank Energie, Easy Energy, Vandebron, Zonneplan, NextEnergy, ANWB Energie, EnergyZero and more, you pick your provider and the fee, energy tax, VAT and feed-in rates fill in by themselves and stay up to date. For any other provider you enter the fee yourself.

On a dynamic contract you pay the wholesale EPEX price for each hour or quarter hour, plus your provider's fee, energy tax and VAT. Prices change through the day, are often lowest at night and around midday, and can drop below zero when there is a lot of wind and sun. EnergyPricing shows the all-in price, so what you see is what you pay.

Yes. Live prices, the chart, widgets, the solar forecast, the calculator, the daily summary and provider set-up are free, with no ads and no account. EnergyPricing Plus is a single €2.99 purchase, not a subscription, that adds tomorrow's prices, the Apple Watch app, notifications and the Live Activity.

Yes. EnergyPricing runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. It has Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and a Live Activity in the Dynamic Island. From version 3.0 there is also an Apple Watch app with two complications and a Smart Stack card, included with Plus.

Yes. Ask Siri what electricity costs now, when the cheapest hours are, or what tomorrow's prices look like, for example "What's the electricity price in Energy Pricing". Say the app's name as "Energy Pricing" or "Energy Prices". The same three questions are also Shortcuts actions, so you can use the price and the cheapest window in your own shortcuts and automations. Tomorrow's prices need Plus, in Siri just like in the app.

Electricity prices come from the EPEX day-ahead auction for the Dutch market, the same wholesale prices your dynamic contract is billed on. The auction closes around midday and results are published in the early afternoon, so tomorrow's prices usually appear from about 13:00, Amsterdam time. Prices are set per hour, or per quarter hour where that applies. Gas has one price per day. The app refreshes in the background, and widgets follow the price through the day.

Version 3.0 is the solar release: a forecast for your own roof drawn over the price chart, what your solar is worth at your provider's feed-in rate, a calculator that counts your panels when it picks a time, and an Apple Watch app with complications (Plus). It also brings Siri and Shortcuts, a new settings screen, a new first-run tour and simpler widget set-up.
